Creating your Ceremony with Care

~ Every child begins the world again ... (Henry David Thoreau, 1817-62)

You may choose to celebrate the birth of your child with a name giving ceremony instead of a church baptism or christening.

This is a joyous occasion when your family and friends gather to celebrate and welcome your child to their new home, family or community.

A naming ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to affirm your hopes for your child’s future and to invite someone to take on the significant role of godparent, ’guardian angel’ or mentor.

You might also like to honour the role that your child’s grandparents and other family members will play in his or her life.

~ Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts (Oliver Wendell Homes Jr, 1841-1935)

Moving into your new home is an exciting time full of promise and anticipation.

Perhaps this new beginning is also tinged with sadness for the old home left – for you or your children.

A house blessing (or warming) is a lovely and positive way to express your hopes and intentions for the life to be lived in this new place you have chosen as your home.
