your wedding - what about your relationship?
Your wedding~what about your relationship?

~ What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are, but how you deal with incompatibility (Leo Tolstoy, 1828-1910)

As an authorised Commonwealth-registered Marriage Celebrant I am legally obliged to provide couples with relationship information.

Many couples report they find taking part in a relationships course before their wedding is valuable and helpful in enabling them to:
•  honestly explore and discuss topics where they hold different views in a safe environment
•  better understand and value each other's point of view
•  improve their communication skills and express their love for each other
•  build confidence in knowing how to face future challenges together.

PROGRAMS
You might like to consider enrolling in a pre-marriage program offered by an organisation such as:
• Relationships Australia – www.relationships.org.au
• Better Relationships (Anglicare) – www.betterrelationships.com.au
• Centacare – www.centacarebrisbane.net.au

These agencies offer programs designed to help you:
• better understand different aspects of your relationship (e.g. personality differences, communication styles, family backgrounds, beliefs about parenting or dealing with money)
• develop the skills that will help both of you to handle the challenges that are part of sharing your life with another person.

YOUR CHOICE
It is recommended that you undertake a relationship or pre-marriage course – however it is entirely up to you; it is not compulsory.
